Save some small pie type of pumpkins for your pets! They can actually eat the "guts" of the pumpkin including the seeds. Cube, bake, and freeze for future use and to give as an additional treat to your dog's food. Fresh, frozen, and canned pumpkin (without the pie spices!) also make a great "firmer" for dogs with diarrhea or loose poops. Just make sure that you are not using painted or moldy pumpkins. For pumpkins that you have carved and are "done" with, take and toss them into wooded areas or "back of the property" for squirrels, deer, opossums, and raccoons.
